Road Trip: Mom's Birthday

January 2nd was my mom's birthday. We got Keith and Jean Olsen's (best friends of my grandparents) house that night and I slipped the news to Jean and we made a cake and celebrated her birthday. It was a lot of fun.
Shocking. All 4 of us look good in this picture. I don't have hair in my face, my sister isn't doing something silly, my mom has her eyes open and Alec doesn't have a weird smile on his face. My mom and I are especially cute because we're wearing the same shirt, but you can't tell in this picture.
Mom and Jean. Those holes are from the candles. I promise we didn't just make a cake with holes in it. Although, I'm a terrible cook, so I wouldn't have been surprised if that had happened. Haha. Actually, funny story about those candles. Jean put one in upside-down and when she went to light it, she said, "Wait a minute..." and pulled it out and said, "Well, that's embarassing." Haha. It was so funny.
Happy Birthday, Mom!

Have you ever heard "Happy Birthday" sung in whale? Well, now's your chance. It's a family tradition. I highly recommend doing it this way although, when you're in a car with a boy you're trying to impress--*cough* *cough* Jaren--and your dad calls you to sing it for your brother over the phone, it's pretty embarassing.

Make a wish, Mom!

Saturday was pretty much a really awesome day. We looked at photo albums that Jean had of my grandma. It was fun to hear stories and to reminisce. Then we headed down to Provo for the men's basketball game against Wakeforest. It was a lot of fun despite the fact that we lost. Oh well. We still played a good game. Afterwards, I went to my cousin's apartment and got together with some of his friends and my friends, Sarah and Ginger. We played Balderdash. It was so much fun! After that, it was off to Sarah's for a sleepover with her and Gin. It was great. :]
